1. Go to your local library
2. Ask them to bring in a Clymer's Manual on interlibrary loan
3. Read and study the section on changing the brake pads on the front disk brake
4. Photocopy the relevant sections so you will have them for future reference
5. Don't break the law and photocopy the entire book - someone worked hard to get that manual ready for us
6. Study the book and the bike - decide if you want to try the brakes
7. Go for it - only tricky part is releasing the piston so that you can slide the caliper apart far enough to ride on either side of the disk
8 Enjoy the learning and process - it is just as much fun
don't forget to keep the rubber side down
